Tmání is the first upcoming Czech animated film in virtual reality. The audience thus enters Ondřej's memories from the time when his depressive illness began to escalate. Using VR technology, they experience the individual shocks and learn to soothe them with their voice, just as the protagonist himself attempts to do in his voice therapy.
The young artist and animator Bára Anna Stejskalová became the one who visually processed Ondřej's memories. She has already received two nominations for the Czech Lion for We Are Closer to Death (2020) and many other international successes.
The author duo decided to choose the path of "cartoon" 3D stylishus be able to walk through the forest, the children's room, the library, meet Ondřej's demon or even enter the village of Darkness, which is ation, which would best capture the ephemerality of Ondřej's memories. The exhibition at Bio Central presents Bára Anna Stejskalová's artistic designs, which were then used to model the world in 3D. Visitors will ta metaphorical image of Ondřej's mind and the framework of the entire story.
The film is currently in the late stages of production and Czech audiences should be able to see it in Czech galleries and selected cinemas from autumn 2022.
